I began college with the goal of going to medical school, but I needed to major in something. At the time, I had just taken a computer cience course in high school and thought software development could be something I utilize in my pursuit of medicine. Even though software development started as my backup plan, I was enjoying the thought process of logical problem solving in those classes more than the memorization that I was doing in organic and biochemistry. So, after three years of coursework and beginning to prepare for the MCAT, I decided that the medical path was not for me.

Now, I am building my knowledge and skill in my programming interests. Right now, I'm learning Python and SQL to build my base and in the summer of 2020 I will learn to apply these skills through projects. What I love about data is the fact that it is applicable to a limitless number of industries and it is up to the data scientist to pursue a field that piques their intrest.
